Cards, Colour & Containment

I have been a busy bee working on my 1) photo cards and 2) my hand drawn/hand painted cards. I have also been brainstorming ideas of how to display said cards at the festival this Saturday.

My photo cards are looking fabulous. I sometimes stop for a moment and stare at them amazed at what I can accomplish when I set my mind to it. This is the first time I've used Podgy to stick photos to the card material. In the past I used thicker rubber cement adhesive. It was a testing process with a few photos getting a little bit of the Podgy dotted on the front. I am more comfortable with it now and things are moving along at a successful rate!

My hand drawn/hand painted cards are also coming along quite well. These are all very one-of-a-kind items. Although I would probably be able to draw a similar image, the colours I mixed will never be the same on a second card. I like that each card is original, it makes them feel special!

How to display these cards at the festival on Saturday has been on my mind since I decide I would be showcasing greeting cards. I had the idea of a clothesline type set up with tiny clothes pegs holding the cards to the string. However, due to limited room on the table for my items I felt a new kind of display was called for. Above is my first attempt at a display using bamboo sticks (kabob sticks) and tiny wooden clothes pegs stuck to one end using the E-6000 adhesive. These would be propped up in a flower pot or a vase of soil. They look fantastic, but are not stable enough for even a slight breeze. I would need to use at least two pegs for each card.

The brainstorming continues...
